- at a Glance

• * On 20th January we started our monthly 'Pie and a Pint!' events at the Bay Horse Hotel, Marygate York.
• * In February, chairman John Gallery (JG) chaired the VisitYork Annual Tourism Awards judging panel and began the 'incognito' visits to various entrants.
• * We attended the VisitYork Street party at the Castle Museum York on 10th March.
• * 15th March, our first visit to the Black Swan Inn York for our
• Pie & a Pint! event
• * Also in March chairman JG started the York Voluntary Guides Training Course
• * The York Conference Showcase at York Racecourse took place on 31st March when chairman JG gave a presentation about the meetings industry.
• * Wednesday 6th April - Two tourism events today - Deliciously Yorkshire exhibition and the VisitYork Tourism Awards - both at York Racecourse.
• * Tuesday 12th April and Pie & a Pint! is held and renamed Pie & a Point! as many attendees bring ther ideas and make their point!
• * Leeds Metropolitan University stage an event about the conference market which chairman JG attends.
• * York Voluntary Guides 60th Anniversary dinner at York Racecourse.
• * Tuesday 10th May and Pie & a Point! is well attended and final plans laid for the June event.
• * Thursday 9th June and we host James Berresford, CEO of Visit England whose presentation 'The Changing Tourism Landscape' attracts a large audience.
• * Friday 8th July we attend the launch of York Early Music Festival
• * Tuesday 13th July and a Visit to the Yorkshire Show for the Welcome to Yorkshire presentation
• * Tuesday 6th September and Pie & a Point! returns.
• * Wednesday 7th September - Welcome to Yorkshire and VisitYork joint event
• * Monday 19th September chairman JG attends Federation of Small business regional branch
• * Friday 30th September - Tourism Question Time at Leeds Metropolitan University
• * Thursday 6th October and Pie & a Point! switches to Thursdays
• * Thursday 27th October - Equestrian Tourism at Follifoot Riding Centre near Harrogate
• * Thursday 3rd November - Pie & a Point! starts to plan 2012.
• * Thursday 8th December - Pie & a Point and a Quiz! Charity quiz to raise funds for local charity SNAPPY
• * Monday 19th December chairman JG presenting at Federation of Small Business' regional event.
